Mountside Care Home

Mountside is a family owned care home, less than 2 miles from Hastings town centre and 3 miles from Hastings Pier, providing an ideal environment for the care and convalescence of the elderly. With comfort and safety in mind, our care home is equipped to the highest standard including passenger lifts and wheelchair access to make getting around as easy as possible.

Main House

A Victorian property situated in the residential area of Hastings that has been refurbished to accommodate the elderly. The main house has much of its original charm and features throughout. The main house has 38 bedrooms many of these having en-suite facilities. Included within Mountside we have 2 lounges and a large dining room that overlooks our lovely gardens. We have a visiting Library, Chiropodist, Dentist and have our newly installed hairdressing salon. There are several close amenities within a short walking distance from Mountside that include a GP surgery and pharmacy, C of E Church, Chinese Restaurant and bar. We also have two local newsagents in our area. Throughout Mountside and Valley View we offer free Wi-Fi.

Valley View

Valley view was completed at the end of 2014 this has added a further 16 bedrooms to the main house. All of these bedrooms have walk in en-suite wet rooms, telephone points, access to wifi and the option to subscribe to Sky television. For safety all rooms including the en-suites are linked to our nurse call system.

Valley view also hosts a spectacular lounge and dining area with breathtaking views. The triple aspect lounge leads to a wonderful decking area with many seating areas. We are very proud of our lounge as it brings the outdoors in to many of our residents who prefer not to go outside.

Gardens

Our tranquil garden sets the scene for peaceful afternoons whilst observing our wildlife and flower arrangements which our residents fully participate in. Wildlife includes Foxes, Squirrels and Badgers and to encourage birds you will see many bird feeders and baths around the gardens.

There are many private areas within our large grounds to enjoy private moments with family and friends. We are fortunate to have gardens that wrap around the front of Mountside and leads to a large car park for all visitors. All of our gardens are assessable to wheelchairs users they have all been landscaped with care and thought to enable all residents to enjoy. Our gardens have a large terraced area and courtyard opening to the large garden which has views over the valley. Indigenous trees and plants such as conifers, clematis, climbers, shrubs, grasses and lavender accentuate the seasons attracting birds and insects keeping it full of life.

Local Area

Alexandra Park is within short walking distance and includes a bandstand, Bowling Green, ponds, swans, ducks and lovely lawns and flower beds. The park includes a cafe which serves cream teas and light snacks. Mountside is on a local bus route with bus stops right outside the Home with regular trips into town and Hastings sea front. For those who are feeling more adventurous there is a train station in the centre of Hastings and also a further station at Ore where people can go to Battle, Bexhill, Rye, Eastbourne, Brighton, or London.

We have a large town centre and a quaint old historical old town.

Local events include Old Town Carnival, ‘Costal Currents’ festival, seafood and wine Festival, and a month long arts festival. We are very proud to hold an annual Pirates day and Jack in The Green processions. Hastings also boasts theatres, museums and art galleries as well as hosting the Hastings International Chess Congress. In October we have a well attended Hastings bonfire night. We host a beer festival in July which is held within Alexandra Park, again is very well supported. Hastings is better known for its fishing community and appears on many local articles.
